Leaving To Study in New Zealand

My mom’s crying. It breaks my heart. But I have to do this. I’m of legal age (darn!) I have my driving license; I can buy cigs and beer at 7-11 anytime for cryin’ out loud!
I am an adult. But still it tears me apart to see her like this. My things are ready. My plane leaves in a couple of hours. It has been my dream to study in New Zealand
New world. New adventure, New food. New everything. I’m excited and nervous.
It all started when I visited this website: www.StudyinNewZealand.com. Hey it might as well be there. Far away from home. Far and foreign. In a couple of hours I learned everything I needed to know about New Zealand and its superior educational system. There are many notable graduates from their universities and I thought this is a new avenue for me.
I need not worry about communicating since more than 50 institutions are English-speaking and 98% of the people speak the language. There are well-known universities I can choose from (I took consideration the course expertise each school has to offer, locations, institutions’ cultures and the price I can afford of course). Since each city has excellent offerings, it took me while to choose. But I finally decided on taking up Biotechnology. Most of the pioneers graduated here.
After securing my New Zealand Visa and Student Permit Visa (which are fairly easy to obtain), health requirements, and character credentials (Police Clearance) I am cleared and everything followed smoothly. I just went online and made inquiries. My correspondents (officials from the university) even reminded me all the things needed to make my stay easy and fun for me. They also helped me find a good place and a fine family to stay with. The family was specially screened for me by the government so I am safe and secured. And that the place is near my university. I corresponded with them before hand so I know what to expect. It’s nice that I go a room al by myself. All that took just a few months.
I assured my mom that I will e-mail, chat, call, anything to keep in touch. I will be staying in my host family who’s already awaiting me.
